ROCKY ROAD

Hello there! Welcome to Flour Garden's first blog post recipe...

Rocky Road has somewhat become my 'signature dish'. I seem to be using this recipe at least once a week, sometimes twice!  It's an easy-to-eat treat for parties, which my brother seemed to have enough off during his holidays. I can guarantee this recipe will be a success amongst kids and adults.

Ingredients

 450g Dairymilk plain chocolate
150g Manhatten pink & white marshmallows
 100g glazed red cherries
 1 packet Marie biscuit
 sprinkles to decorate

The ingredients can be altered to suit your taste. I personally prefer more marshmallows than biscuit as it creates a fluffier texture. You could also add in nuts or coconut flakes. I often just use the half opened chocolate slabs which I find around the house, especially peppermint crisp,  giving the rocky road a hint of minty flavour.

Method

Hand crush biscuits into a large mixing bowl.
Chop marshmallows and cherries into quarters and add to the bowl.
Melt chocolate and pour over mixture, mixing until well combined
Spread mixture into a 20cmX24cm tray & add sprinkles.
Leave to harden in fridge and once set,
cut into slices.

For those of you who love cutting corners and may opt for the mini marshmallows, the taste of the Rocky Road does change. The mini mallows are smoother, softer and gives of a greater strawberry flavour.
